The future is WiFi for San Antonio
I found this article a few days ago and just now got a chance to write about it. Sorry I’ve been away for a while, things got a bit hairy and writing just wasn’t on the top of my list.
Anyway-back to San Antonio! We’re going to have free WiFi access downtown and on the Riverwalk! Can you imagine? Beeelions and beeliions of tourists (20 million a year, you know) able to access a free wireless network downtown, right in the heart of tourist territory.
If entrepreneurs in that area are smart, they’ll use that network for all it’s worth. Hell, I’m thinking a few plans out myself.
According to the article I consulted, the network should be complete within the next two months. That means by this fall there should be free wireless downtown!
AT&T is doing the installation and the free service will be slower than their normal broadband speed. Users will be able to purchase faster service
