Cajun Music and Food Festival
OH yeah!
This Saturday (May 26th) the De Fa Tras Chapter of the Cajun French Music Association is having a Festival! I can’t wait!
The fun starts at 10am with dance lessons. You better BELIEVE I’ll have Chris out there and we’ll be learning to dance! AND we’ll be taking pictures.
There will be music from 11am to 11pm..It’ll be squeeze box heaven!
Don Fontenot & Les Amis De La Louisiane will play from 11am to 3pm
La Cassine Playboys from 3pm to 7pm
and Donnie Broussard & Louisiana Stars will finish off the night from 7pm to 11pm.
Apparently they will be serving food too. Admission is $8 per person with kids under 12 in free. It will be held at Anhalt Hall. Directions from San Antonio are 281 North to Hwy 46. Turn left, and then 4.1 miles to Anhalt Rd. Wheeee!
So, you know, the Spanish Missions south of town were built in part to keep French influence to a minimum. Gleefully it didn’t work!
