Jackson-Keller Farmer’s Market
It took us three weeks to find this Farmer’s Market! The directions I had just said it was in Olmos Park.
Okay, here’s how to get there-head south from 410 on San Pedro. East on Jackson-Keller. It’s that easy, but somehow it took us three weeks to find it. Don’t ask. It’s a long story.
The market is open every Saturday in the summer from 7am to 1pm. If you want a good selection, go early. We got there around noon and there were some herbs, new potatoes, peaches, and expensive watermelons left. Oh and sunflowers. Can’t forget the sunflowers.

Can’t buy Chris a sunflower without him trying to eat it! He gained a bit of a fan club posing for this picture. We’ll make friends down here whether we like it or not just on his antics alone!

This was about the extent of the market at noon on Saturday. Perhaps as the growing season gets in higher gear it will stay busier longer.
If you go, don’t forget to take small bills. Most everything is under $5. And I recommend that you only buy what you can eat in a few days. We got some beautiful little peaches, but I had to throw half of them away. It’s hard to remember that this isn’t the grocery store. This stuff isn’t shipped to you half green, it’s ready to eat that day!
